Francis W. Lofaro

Francis William Lofaro, 90, of Johnsonville, NY, passed away at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT on March 31, 2023, one day after his 90th birthday, surrounded by his family. He was born in Greenwich, NY on March 30, 1933, the son of William and Sarah (Toronto) Lofaro. Francis was a Supervisor at the Watervliet Arsenal where he had been employed for over 20 years. In his earlier years, Francis loved playing baseball and football with his children. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed unwinding with his pipe and a glass of wine. Francis is survived by his children and their spouses; Debra A.(Don) Loy of Ramona, CA, William J. “Bill” Lofaro of Greenwich, NY, Kathleen S. Cooper of Bennington, VT, Tamala J. Lofaro of Escondido, CA, Jill E. (Richard) Watkins of Escondido, CA and Kevin O. (Lisa) Lofaro of Valley Center, CA. He is also survived by a sister; Elizabeth Patterson of Albany, NY; his longtime companion, Stella Kane, of Hoosick Falls, NY; 16 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandson. He was predeceased by two sons: Francis “Frankie” Lofaro and Scott Lofaro. Funeral services for Francis will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
