SHAFTSBURY
Faye A. Baker, 71, a resident of Twitchell Hill, Shaftsbury, passed away peacefully at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 surrounded by her family. Faye's death came following a long illness.
Born in Bennington on February 16, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Elwell) Myers. Faye received her education in the Shaftsbury and North Bennington schools.
Faye married William E. Baker on February 25, 1961, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington.
For many years Faye operated the food service program at the Shaftsbury Elementary school.
Faye's family was her greatest pleasure. She also enjoyed gardening, her cat Midnight and long walks with Bill.
Survivors include her husband, William Baker of Shaftsbury; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and William Parks of Shaftsbury; three sons and daughters-in-law, William J. and Diane Baker of Bennington, Christopher and Patricia Baker and David and Kelly Baker, all of Bennington; ten grandchildren, Angelique, Julia, Lindsay, Amy, Darcy, Tyler, Travis, Aaron, Ashton and Amri; ten great-grandchildren, Luis Jr, Reece, Blake, Tanner, Shea, Dakota, Tyler, Oliver, Giovanni and Ayden; three sisters, Nancy (Paul) Sausville of Malta, NY, Betty (Roy) Ware and Kimberly Mayer of Shaftsbury; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Gloria) Myers of North Bennington and John (Jackie) Myers of Shaftsbury; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:15 a.m. with a prayer and from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm when the family will be in attendance.
Burial will take place in the family lot in the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Shaftsbury Fire Department or Second Chance Animal Shelter.
