BENNINGTON, VT
Evelyn Jerome Lindsay, 87, died February 10, 2017 at her home in Bennington.
Born in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late William Travers Jerome, Jr. and Hope Colgate Jerome Sloane.
She received her education in Bennington, where she graduated from Bennington High School. She attended Bennington College and later graduated from the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.
She was united in marriage with James R. Lindsay on June 9, 1962, at the Old First Church in Bennington. Mr. Lindsay died on May 11, 2002.
Survivors include an older sister, Ann Jerome Miles of Springfield, Missouri. Nephews and nieces living in the Bennington area include William Jerome IV, Jamie Jerome, Lodie Colvin, Judy Knight and Kate Coderre. Other nieces and nephews are scattered in various states, including great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
For their beautiful expressions of compassion and care these last 15 months, the family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the following caregivers: Susan Harrington, Heather Ryland, Cindy Gardner, Kelley Gardner, Caitlin Mack, Denya Mears and Kristina Wilkinson.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
