Evelyn L. Herrmann

Evelyn L. Herrmann, 74, a resident of Holliday Drive in Shaftsbury, VT died Thursday July 20, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY surrounded by her loving family following a long illness. She was born in Island Heights, New Jersey on December 2, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Marguerite (Fisher) McDaniel. She received her education at Central Regional High School in New Jersey. She married Joseph R. Herrmann on June 24, 1967 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Toms River, New Jersey. Evelyn had been employed at Triangle in Bennington, Basketville in Sunderland and most recently Paulin’s in Arlington. Evelyn was a member of the Shaftsbury Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening and loved her fish pond in her back yard. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joseph R. Herrmann of Shaftsbury, VT. Her children, Shawn (Peggy) Herrmann of Bennington, VT., Joann (John) Herrmann of West Pawlet, VT., April (Bob) Paulin of Hoosick, NY and Wayne (Amy) Herrmann of Manchester, VT. Three grandchildren Dan, Kristen, and Kyle, Herrmann. Seven great grandchildren Owen, Aria, Elena, Piper, Konnor, Karter and Kamden. A sister, Diane (Ed) Murray of Toms River, N.J. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Lester “Buddy” McDaniel and two sisters, Susie Respess and Harriet Loveman. Services for Evelyn will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Evelyn L.
