Evelyn Buck

***UPDATE*** A small service will be held on Sunday, June 4th at 12:00 noon at 2353 Sandgate Road, Sandgate VT 05201 at 12 noon. Close friends and family are welcomed to share in her memories. ------------ Evelyn M. Buck, 87, a resident of Sandgate Road in Sandgate, Vermont died Saturday, April 1, 2023 at her residence. She was born in New York City on December 17, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Viola (Mason) Buck. She received her education in New York. Evelyn lived a very youthful life before she started her family. In earlier years Evelyn worked as a waitress. She also owned and operated a bed and breakfast in West Arlington, “A Mountain Side Lodge” as well as a Sewing business " Sewing by Ev" She loved art and fashion and was a very creative person. Evelyn was very independent and had built her own home. She enjoyed horseback riding, sewing, gardening and painting. Survivors include her children, Thomas Miller (Yung) of Eagle Bridge, NY, Alford Clayton Jr. (Lisa) of Bennington, VT and Dawn Dodge of Wyoming PA. Her grandchildren, McKayla Hansen, William Lautenschlager, Shawn Connor, Debbie Jordan and Karen Dunham. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Jeanie Parks. The family would especially like to thank Phyllis Skidmore and the local neighbors for everything they did for Evelyn over the years. There will be no formal services at this time. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Evelyn M.
