Eva F. Jones, 85, wife of Harold W. Jones, a resident of Main Street, Petersburgh, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls, NY following a brief illness.
Born in Bennington on April 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora (DeBell) Hurley. She received her education in the Bennington schools.
Harold and Eva were married on February 10, 1951 at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Eva was employed as a seamstress at Thomson's in Bennington. For over 35 years she worked alongside Harold at their business in Petersburgh, H. W. Jones Garage.
Eva's most treasured possession was her family. She devoted her life to loving Harold, her children, grandchildren, and every member of her family. Her happiest times were holidays and special occasions spent with them. She considered every grandchild and great-grandchild a precious gift to her. She was a dearly loved wife and mother who will be forever missed.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Harold W. Jones, two daughters and a son, Gloria (Alan) Adams of Berlin, NY, and Gayle (Victor) Corbisiero of Fort Edward, NY and Donald (Elaine) Jones of Petersburgh; seven dearly loved grandchildren, Holly, Nathan and Cara Adams, Colleen (John) Scott, Naomi (Jeff) King, Joshua Corbisiero and Amanda (Darren) Lane; nine dearly cherished great-grandchildren, Noah, Emily, Eva, Chad, Matthew, Zachary, Sophia, Paxton and Coraline; six brothers and sisters, Frank Hurley, Katherine Krawczyk, Viola Burgess, Jerod (Pam) Sanders, Ruby (Thomas) Kinney and Nancy (Daniel) Flanders, all of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eva was predeceased by three siblings, John Hurley (infant), Ruth Gratton and Sally Pacher.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dale Hall officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
