Ernst Zisselsberger

Ernst Zisselsberger, 90, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully at Bennington Health and Rehab in Bennington, on May 9th, 2024. Born on November 3rd, 1933, in Munich, Germany. He was the son of the late Ernst and Berta (Sterr) Zisselsberger. He was raised and received his early education in Munich. In the early 1956, he immigrated to America, entering through New York City. Shortly after his arrival in New York City, he met Karin Boelling. On August 19th, 1958, they were married in New York City. Karin passed away on February 27th, 2007. Ernst and Karin started a family and raised their children in NYC. They later moved to Beebe, Quebec, Canada, and following that, later moved to Newport, Vermont. After settling in Vermont, Ernst began working for Ethan Allen Furniture in Orleans then North Country Hospital in Newport. He also served as an Orleans County Sheriff's deputy and was a member of the Vermont State Police Auxiliary. Survivors include, his sons and their wives; Gary (Heather) Zisselsberger, Ron (Sue) Zisselsberger, and Jim (Mary Ellen) Zisselsberger. His grandchildren; Lucy (Jeremy) Lachance, Tracy Zisselsberger, and Casey Zisselsberger. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter, Katherine Lachance. Ernst is predeceased by a grandson; Hans Zisselsberger. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services for Ernst.
