Ernie Loveland passed quietly at home on the morning of July 25, 2018 with his two sons and his love by his side.

Ernie was born in Bennington. He attended local elementary schools and graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1971.

Even through his hard-fought battle with cancer, Ernie maintained his great sense of humor and his enjoyment of the little things in life.

He loved nothing more than a walk in the woods or on the beach in Pine Point, Maine; making someone smile and hearing his grandchildren laugh.

In earlier years Ernie shared his love of hunting, fishing and camping with his boys, Jody and Seth.

Ernie is survived by his love and best friend, PJ DeVito of Shaftsbury. His mother and father, Patricia and Max Perrotta of Bennington. His sons Jody Loveland and fiancé Laura Spika and their children Adrian, Abram, Adalyn, Oakley and Finley of Shaftsbury and Seth Loveland and wife Amanda and their children Annalise and Jack of Bennington; and a brother Skip Loveland of Bennington.

Family and Friends may call at EP Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main Street, Bennington, Vermont this Saturday, July 28 from 1 " 3 pm with a short service to follow at 3.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cancer Center Community Crusaders through the funeral home.
