BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Ernest "Ernie" Joseph Chenaille, 64, a resident of Vail Road, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at his residence following a brief illness.
Born in Bennington on August 31, 1953, he was the son of the late Adrian Chenaille and Dorothy (Romanowski) Chenaille, who survives. Ernie received his education in Bennington and graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1971and later attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA.
Ernie married the former Donna J. Boutin at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on October 19, 1974.
He had been employed as an Engineering Technician at Eveready Battery for twenty-seven years.
Ernie was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing trips to Cape Cod, Lake Champlain and Lake Ontario. He also enjoyed hunting, bowling, boating and coin and stamp collecting.
Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Chenaille of Bennington; a daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and John Razai; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Amanda Chenaille, three grandchildren Jonathon and James Razai and Ryan Chenaille, all of Brunswick, NY his mother, Dorothy Chenaille of Pownal and his mother-in-law Theresa Boutin of Bennington; two sisters: Cathy (Donny) Vosburgh, and Wendy (Tom) Moore, all of Bennington, a brother Larry (Candy) Chenaille of Thomaston, CT; a brother-in-law, Gary Boutin and his wife Linda of Castleton and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
