Emily Pease

Emily May Pease passed away at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT, on November 28, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born in East Arlington, Vermont on December 20, 1937, to Hershey G. Pease and Bessie (Jones) Pease. Emily attended a one-room elementary school in Sunderland, VT, high school in Arlington, VT and then attended St. Joseph Business School in Bennington, as well as two years at Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA. Emily worked at the Bank of Bennington and Hale Furniture Company in East Arlington, VT. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, music, a variety of crafts and especially loved her goats, as well as a lifelong closeness with her sisters Elizabeth, Maxine and Shirley. Emily is survived by Shirley A. Nelson and her husband Melvin of East Ryegate, VT; nephew Tim Thompson; niece Kathy Jerome and her husband Doug; cousins Seth and Betty Wolcott of Castleton, VT and Joe Frost. Emily is predeceased by her parents, Hershey G. and Bessie Pease, as well as sisters Elizabeth M. Pease and Maxine L. Thompson. There will be a Celebration of Life held in the spring with a date to be determined.
