Ellen Ann Crawford (Stewart)

August 13, 1943 — April 17, 2019

Ellen Ann Crawford, 75, a resident of Branch Street in Bennington, VT passed away peacefully Wednesday April 17, 2019 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a long illness.

She was born in Bennington, VT August 13, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruby (Forrest) Stewart. Ellen received her education in Bennington and was a 1961 graduate of Bennington High School.

In earlier years Ellen along with her husband Harvey Crawford owned and operated Benn Pastry in Bennington. She later worked as a cook at the Putnam Memorial Hospital and most recently was a cook at Catholic Medical Center and Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Ellen enjoyed ceramics. She loved her dogs and baking cakes and pastries.

Survivors include two sisters, Cynthia Yarnal and her husband Dean and Diane Bleau and her husband Charlie of Bennington. Three grandchildren, Megan, Devin and Michael France and several great grandchildren. Her step children, Debbie, Alison, Wendy, Lindsey and Jessie along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son Robert France and a grandson Brandon France.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ellen will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday April 20, at 4:00 p.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The burial will take place in the family lot at the Woodford Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
