Ellen Elizabeth Coyne (Bishop)

August 20, 1945 — January 29, 2019

Ellen E. Coyne, 73, a former resident of Bennington, Vermont and more recently of Bentley Ave. in Poultney, Vermont died Tuesday January 29, 2018 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital following a brief illness surrounded by her family.

She was born in Bennington, VT August 20, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Mable (Campbell) Bishop. Ellen received her education in Bennington and attended Bennington High School.

For over 30 years Ellen had been employed at the former Union Carbide Corporation

She enjoyed playing Bingo. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include two daughters, Stefanie Boyd and her husband James of Arlington, VT and Angela LaFlamme and her husband Christopher of Rutland, VT. A son, Preston Scott Coyne of Poultney, VT. Nine grandchildren, Samantha Gibson and her husband Derek, Ryan and Michael Boyd, Ian and Camille Coyne, Emily, Rachel and Carly LaFlamme and Cassondra Chapko. Two brothers, Herman Bishop of Florida and James Bishop of New Hampshire and a sister Ruth Jewell of New Hampshire along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son Kenneth Coyne and 6 brothers and sisters

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of Ellen's life will be held at the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington, VT on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
