Elizabeth Mildred Knapp

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Knapp, 75, a resident of Duffy Drive in Bennington, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at her residence. Born on June 17, 1948, in North Adams, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Rupert and Mildred (Lewis) Hall. After high school, Betty worked at a variety of places, including the Pownal Tannery in Pownal, Vermont, Photo Tech in Williamstown, Massachusetts, as well as, the Salvation Army and Globe Union, both of Bennington. She married John W. Knapp Sr. at the Methodist Church in Williamstown, MA, on July 17, 1965. Together, they shared nearly 55 years of Marriage. John Passed away on March 17th, 2020. Betty loved the Outdoors. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and gardening. Her grandchildren and Great-grandchildren were her whole world. Survivors include her children, John W. Knapp Jr. of Bennington, Jeffrey and Happy Knapp of Shaftsbury, Scott Knapp and Erin of Bennington, and Tamara and Mitchel Harris of Pownal, VT. Seven grandchildren: Haleigh, Kayla, Dakota, Samantha, Kyle, Selena, and Wenonah. Nine great-grandchildren. Her siblings; Debbie Denomen (Ed), Charles Hall, and Chet Lewis (Tammy). A brother-in-law, Raymond Knapp of North Bennington. As well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty is predeceased by her husband, John W. Knapp Sr. An infant son, Kevin Knapp. Her siblings; David Hall, Edgar Lewis, and Edith Hall. A half-sister, Beverly Hall. A half-brother, Gordie Hall. As well as a sister-in-law, Cynthia Knapp A graveside service will be held at the family lot at East Lawn Cemetery in Williamstown, MA at the convenience of the family.
