She was born in Bennington, VT on February 3, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Olin J. and Ruth M. (Lane) Cross. She received her education in Shaftsbury and North Bennington, VT.
In earlier years Elizabeth was employed at Putnam Memorial Hospital and the Thomson Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
Elizabeth is survived by one daughter Pamela (William) Sargent of Springfield, VT and one son, William (Diana) Center of Bennington. She leaves five grandchildren: Hannah M. Hill, Colby W. (Mary Beth Merriam) Hill, Danica A. (Chris Daugherty) Hill, Molly S. Center and Liam P. Center all of Bennington, and three great grandchildren; Taylor, Colby B. and Ethan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, and her brothers: Jack Cross and James Cross and her two sisters: Gertrude Harrington and Shirley Paddock.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, June 8, 2018 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00PM until the time of the service.
