Eleanor M. Labonte (Dubois)

She was born in Ferrisburg, VT October 8, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Yvette (Allen) DuBois. Eleanor received her early education in Ferrisburg and was a graduate of Drury High School in North Adams, MA.
She married Wilfred LaBonte October 14, 1950 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in North Adams, MA.
In earlier years Eleanor had been employed at Sprague Electric and General Cable. She retired from Wills Insurance Agency in Bennington.
Eleanor was a founding member of the Lady's Guild at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pownal, VT, she also served on the Parish Council and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a former member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Pownal Fire Department. Eleanor enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and gardening.
Survivors include her husband Wilfred LaBonte of Pownal, VT. Her children and their significant others, Steven LaBonte and Virginia Sliwa of Naples, Florida, Marie Baker and Mike Slivoski of Bennington and Andrew LaBonte and his wife Wendy, of Milford, New Hampshire; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A brother Rene DuBois of Prospect, Maine and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday August 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday August 23, at 10:30 am with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal.
