Eileen Anne Connors (Lyon)
April 2, 1932 — April 15, 2016
She was born in Blairsville, PA on April 2, 1932, and was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Cassidy) Lyon. She received her education in local schools.
On October 6, 1951, she married George Connors. They had been married for fifty-two years when George died on February 5, 2004. In earlier years, Mrs. Connors had worked at various retail stores including Sunglass Hut, but in most recent years had enjoyed the status as Matriarch of the family.
She is a former member of the VFW Auxiliary in Manchester. She enjoyed knitting, doing cross word puzzles, gardening, bird watching, and following Dale Earnhardt, Jr. on the NASCAR circuit. She loved being mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Survivors include her children: Nancy Cota of Proctor, VT, Michael Connors of East Dorset, VT, Kathleen (Mark) Herman of Boston, A, Patrick Connors of North Dorset, VT, George Connors Jr. (Stella) of Manchester, VT Carol Connors of West Rupert, VT, and Margaret (Peter) Gaiotti of Danby, VT.
She leaves her grandchildren; Michael, Aaron, Shawn, Adam, Cassidy, Samantha, Christian, Amanda, Daniel, Zachary, Stanley, Andrew, John and Colby, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her faithful companion Annie.
She is predeceased by all her brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00AM at St Paul the Apostle Church in Manchester Center. Interment will follow in the family lot in South Village Cemetery in East Dorset; There are no calling hours scheduled.
