Edward “Bo” Ferenc, 72 of East Rupert, VT passed away Friday November 11, 2022 at the Equinox Terrace in Manchester, VT. Edward was born on July 3, 1950 in Bennington, VT, the son of Edward S. and Betty (Wilkins) Ferenc. He was a 1968 graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary. He went on to Castleton university where he received his Bachelor’s and then his Master’s Degrees in Education. Edward was a teacher for many years in Pawlet, Danby, Dorset and Manchester. He served on the Rupert School Board and then became chairman of the BRSU. He was a one-time auditor and a Justice-of-the-Peace for the Town of Rupert. He was the Director of the National Diffusion Network, which helped spread innovative education programs to America’s schools, for the State of Vermont. Edward owned and operated the Marble West Inn on West Road in Dorset with his partner, Hugh Miller, from 1985-89. Upon retirement Edward took care of his mom and dad. Edward was also a longtime volunteer, board member and trustee at Merck Forest and Farmland Center. He enjoyed photography, hiking and kayaking. Edward is survived by his longtime partner, Hugh Miller of East Rupert, VT, sister, Deb Bourn, of Hubbardton, VT and his brother, Paul Ferenc of Dorset, VT.
