EARL SENECAL JR. OBITAURY
BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Earl John Senecal, Jr. a resident of Bennington died on Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
He was born in Bennington on November 6, 1923 and was the son of Earl and Edith (Jordan) Senecal, Sr. Earl received his education in Bennington schools. He proudly served in the Army during World War II, and took part in the Normandy Invasion. Earl married the former Flavian Pinsonneault, she predeceased him in 1987. Earl had been employed as a machinist for Eveready in Bennington for many years, and had previously worked at the Bradford Knitting Mill.
Earl is a member of the American Legion, Post #13 of Bennington, VFW Post #1332 of Bennington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and flower gardening.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Cindy Levitte of Bennington, and his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Wanda Senecal of Norwich, NY. Earl leaves three grandchildren: Robin, Raeann, and Rhonda as well as four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Besides his wife, Earl is predeceased by one daughter, Beverly Jepson, his brothers and sisters and one son-in-law, Sam Levitte.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington at 1:00PM. Interment will take place in the spring of 2019.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 11:00AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Cancer Crusaders or the Second Chance Animal Shelter, through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
