Douglas B. Shand

He was born in Swanton, VT April 30, 1933. He was the son of the late Douglas B. and Mildred Shand. He received his education in Swanton.
Doug was self-employed in the painting business. He enjoyed cross word puzzles, fishing and reading.
Survivors include his children, Cindy Shand and David Martin Sr. , Elizabeth Rottler , Loyal Rottler, John Washburn of Bennington Pamela Burger of Davenport, NY, Steve Shand and Mary of Canada along with ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchild. He was pre-deceased by three grandchildren, Loyal Rottler, Kevin Hunt JR. and Nikki Jean Hunt, and five brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at the Beech Street Fire Department on Monday July 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
If friends desire contributions in memory of Mr. Shand may be made to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home to help the family with expenses through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
