Douglas S. Moffitt (Moffitt)
March 12, 1949 — July 18, 2019
He was born in Keene, New Hampshire on March 12, 1949 and was the son of the late Robert and Doris (Parker) Moffitt. He received his education in Londonderry, Vermont and attended Chester High School. Douglas was employed as a machinist at UST in Bennington, Vermont for several years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bennington. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed being outside in nature.
He is survived by his life companion, Donna Peters of Woodford, Belinda Capin , whom he raised, like a daughter, of Woodford, as well as two brothers: Robert Moffitt and Larry Moffitt, both of Bennington, Vermont, a nephews and several cousin.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at the Landgrove Cemetery at
2:00PM. There are no calling hours scheduled. Contributions may be made to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home at 628 Main Street, Bennington, Vermont to assist the family. Guestbook condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net
