Dorothy M. Wilkie (Rice)

February 24, 1932 — January 10, 2019

NORTH BENNINGTON

Dorothy M. Wilkie, 86, widow of Harold Wilkie, a resident of Murphy Road, North Bennington, died peacefully Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home following a long illness.

Born in Bennington February 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jennie (Lane) Rice. She received her education in North Bennington and was a 1948 graduate of North Bennington High School.

Mr. & Mrs. Wilkie were married in Bennington on February, 26, 1964. Mr. Wilkie died May 5, 1984.

Mrs. Wilkie retired from Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury where she had been employed for thirty years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Bonnie Stratton of Shaftsbury; two grandsons, Michael Stratton II and Jamie Stratton of Bennington and Kyle Stratton and Jennifer Stratton of Brunswick, NY; six great-grandchildren, Damion, Michael J. and Catherine Stratton and Bradley, Colby and Carson Geroux; a brother, Kenneth Rice of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister and brother, Helen Houran and Richard Rice.

At Mrs. Wilkie's request private services will take place at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place at the family lot in Hinsdillville Cemetery.
