Dorothy Ellen Kelly (Lafountain)

January 15, 1950 — March 1, 2018

To the loss of a role model, hero, best friend and the greatest grandmother, mother anyone could ask for"¦"¦..

On March 1st at 6:45am, Ms. Dorothy E. Kelly went home to be with the Lord. Dorothy was a beloved grandmother and mother. She loved without regard for recognition or reward and loved the stranger as family, giving her last dime to those in need.

Ms. Kelly was a woman of faith, who knew what it meant to be selfless, caring, loving, compassionate and earnest. Though these are the traits she is best known for, Ms. Kelly also loved to be in the kitchen, baking and was an amazing cook with a love of the outdoors as well. She worked hard to provide for her children and saved to be able to take her daughters camping, on a cross country trip or to make holidays and birthdays into ones they'd never forget. She battled many illnesses with fortitude and unwavering strength as she did with all that life put in her path.

She had an amazing talent of many things, whether refinishing furniture, making clothes and costumes by hand, knitting or working on vehicles. She never said "I can't". She did all things and did them artfully.

Her absence has left a huge hole in our lives and in our hearts and she will be missed greatly.

Ms. Kelly is survived by her three daughters: Audrey (Jeff) Brillon of Shaftsbury, Jennifer Kelly of North Bennington, and Stephanie Crandall of Lexington, KY. Dorothy leaves nine grandchildren; Makayla Crandall, Mariah Siegriest, Ryan Brillon, Meghan Crandall, Taylor Siegriest, Stephen Brillon, Rebecca Siegriest, Jaxon Crandall, and Alexis Crandall, as well as eight siblings; Marie West, Shirley Boisvert, John LaFountain, Jr., Rosemary Lillie, Judy Briggs, Jeannette Rousseau, Paul LaFounfain, and Jeannie LaFountain. She leaves several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents and one brother, David LaFountain, and one sister, Joanne LaFountain, and her late husband Stephen P. Kelly.
