Dorothy Irene Chenaille (Romanowski)

Dorothy Irene "Dot" Chenaille, 85, a resident of Spruce Lane, Pownal, died peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation following a short illness.
Born in Worcester, MA on October 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Bagdonovich) Romanowski. She received her education in the Bennington schools and was a 1952 graduate of Bennington High School.
Dot married Adrian "Pat" Chenaille at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on November 29, 1952. Pat died April 1, 2013.
In earlier years Dot was employed at various local offices and non-profits and was working at United Counseling Service at the time of her retirement. Also, together with her husband, Dot owned and operated Midtown Bowl on East Main Street in Bennington for several years.
Dot was a member of the Pownal Swinging Seniors and enjoyed time spent on activities with her many Swinging Senior friends along with reading, drawing and traveling. Dot and Pat spent a year traveling throughout the United States in their motor home. Her favorite pastime was spending time and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
Survivors include: daughter Cathy (Donny) Vosburgh (Bennington); son, Larry (Candy) Chenaille (Thomaston, CT); daughter, Wendy (Tom) Moore (Bennington) and a daughter-in-law, Donna Chenaille, (Bennington); four grandchildren, Tracy Maroney (Brian Jr.), Carmen Chenaille (John Razai), Tom Chenaille (Amanda) and Doug Oldham (Morgan); seven great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Dot was predeceased by a son, Ernest Chenaille who died June 7, 2018.
Due to the constraints of COVID-19, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
