BENNINGTON
Dorothy A. (Dot) Capin, 64, a resident of Coolidge Avenue, Bennington, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a long illness.
Born in Rochester, VT on March 31, 1953, she was the daughter of the late John and Marilyn (Gibbs) Tifft. Dot received her education in the Bennington schools.
She married Hyland H. Capin in Bennington on August 21, 1983.
Fort several years Dot was employed at Mack Molding Company in Arlington.
Survivors include four daughters, Brandy (Garry) Boyer and Pam Mears (Tom Cady), all of Bennington, Wendy (Victor) Bryant of Hoosick Falls, NY and Tammy Young of Springfield, VT; twelve grandchildren, Adam (Keshia) Mears, Joshua Mears, Joshua (Christine) Boyer, Kimberly Young, Ethan Morse, Christopher (Erin) Grant, Brandon O'Dell, Alexander Boyer, Brianna Young, Taigan O'Dell, Samantha Boyer and Ricky Hackett; fifteen great-grandchildren, Ashton, Samuel, Winter, Addison, Harmony, Britain, Madison, Emma, Landyn, Tanner, Sayde, Alexis, Zoey, Nickole and Giavannah; four sisters, Linda Hill (Robert) of Hoosick, NY, Grace Martin of Pownal, Cheryl Sharkey (Vaughn) of Hoosick, NY and Rebecca Gratz of Bennington; two brothers, Michael Tifft (Connie) of Pownal and David Tifft (Carol) of Georgia, VT; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dot was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amber Morse.
Friends are invited to pay respects to the family at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
