Dennis M. Mathieu (Mathieu)

May 23, 1947 — August 11, 2020

Dennis M. Mathieu, age 73, a resident of Bacon Hollow Road in Sunderland, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, following a brief illness.

Dennis was born in Pawtucket, RI and was the son of the late Armand and Rita (Daigneault) Mathieu. He received his education in Rhode Island. He proudly served his country in both the Marine Corps and the Army. He retired from the military with over twenty five years of service.

Dennis married the former Denise King on October 9, 1992. She survives. Following his retirement from the military, he went to work as a Deputy with the Windham County (VT) Sheriff's Department.

Dennis was a member of the Arlington Lions Club and the Bellows Falls Free and Accepted Masons.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Jennifer Muchler and her husband Kevin Muchler of Jamaica, VT, Dennis, Jr. (D.J.) Mathieu of Arlington, VT, Josh Mathieu of Manchester, VT. Dennis leaves four grandchildren: Madison Edwards of Bath, ME., Avery Bucchieri of Sandgate, VT, Thorin Mathieu of Manchester, VT and Shae Muchler of Jamaica, VT. Dennis has one great granddaughter Harlow Paustian. He has one brother, James Mathieu and his wife Patricia Mathieu of Tampa, FL and one sister Darlene Gardner of Tampa, FL. Dennis is predeceased by one brother, Michael Mathieu.
