Debra Jean Chandler (Goodhue)

Debra Jean Chandler, 64, a resident of Binninger Road, Shushan, died peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hoosick Falls Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in Hanover, NH on April 10, 1953, she was the daughter of Stanley A. Goodhue and the late Karlene M. (Dow) Goodhue. Debbie received her education at Sacred Heart School and Mt. Anthony Union High School where she was a member of the Class of 1971.
She married Donald A. Chandler on December 25, 1986 in Shushan. Donnie died on February 18, 2009.
In earlier years Debbie was employed as a travel agent and also worked in her parent's family business, Goodhue's Corner Store in Bennington. She later worked at Mack Molding in Arlington for over twenty years until the time of her retirement.
Debbie was a very crafty person and and excelled in making jewelry and other fine crafts. She enjoyed taking long walks but her favorite pastime was the time she spent with her five grandchildren.
Debbie's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center for the outstanding care shown to Debbie during her illness.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Amanda Dean of Shushan, NY; a daughter, Jennifer Chandler and her partner Justin Lohnes of Hoosick Falls; five grandchildren, Rachal, Annabelle and Alice Dean, McKenna and Trent Benedict; her father, Stanley A. Goodhue of The Villages, FL; four brothers, Stephen (Heather) Goodhue of Bennington, Kevin (Michelle) Goodhue of Hackettstown, NJ, Timothy (Michele) Goodhue of Tampa, FL and Gregg (Tanya) Goodhue of Middletown, CT; a sister-in-law, Cindy Shortt and Debbie's best friend, Carol Palmateer along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
