Deborah G. Crowchild (Knights)

February 22, 1951 — August 5, 2017

Deborah Glen Crowchild (Knights, Santelli) passed away on August 5, 2017 after a long illness. Debroah was born on February 22, 1951 at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, VT. She was the daughter of David and Patricia Knights.

She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School, Class of 1969. In the years after graduation, she traveled the country extensively before settling down in Sandgate, VT with her husband Thomas and her two sons.

She loved her home and was an active member of the Sandgate community. She served on the town board and was instrumental in bringing Mettawee Theater to the church lawn each year. She loved old Blues, the Rolling Stones, driving vintage muscle cars that her family restored and cooking gourmet meals for the people she loved.

Reading was a favorite pastime. She was rarely without a book and had a strong love of learning. She will be remembered for her fiercely independent spirit, her strength as her health declined and especially for her laugh that could light up a room.

She is survived by her mother Patricia Knights of Bennington, her son Shadow Santelli (Rachel) and graddaughter Zoey of Sunderland, her son Tom Santelli and ex-husband Thomas Santelli, both of Sandgate.

No services are planned at this time. A celebration of her life will be scheduled in the near future.
