BENNINGTON-
Deborah "Debbie" Ann Carey, 64, a resident of Bennington, Vermont passed away on September 12th, 2022 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York.
She was born in Bennington, VT on February 28th, 1958 to the late Susan F. Broduer and John Carpenter Sr. She grew up in Bennington and attended local schools.
Debbie married William F. Carey Sr. on June 28th, 1975 at Sacred Heart de Sales Catholic Church. Together they had four children.
She spent her working career in private caregiving as a licensed LNA for many years. Debbie was employed at Twin Maples in Bennington for nearly 30 years and worked at many other local care facilities. She also worked in home health.
Debbie's main focus in life was her family. She loved spending as much time as she could watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Debbie loved to do crafts, especially with the kids, and made sure to share her love for baking with them. Her other favorite pastimes were camping in Somerset, Lake George and Lake Luzerne with her family, going tag sales and haggling for the best prices, and sewing. She would go for nightly motorcycle rides with her husband to relax, regardless of what time she made it home from work. They were never apart.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 47 years, William F. Carey Sr. and her four children: Keith W. Carey, of Bennington, VT, April M. Kinney (Joseph), of Louisville, KY, William Carey Jr. (Jenny Clayborn), of Bennington, VT and Rebecca L. Carey, of Hoosick Falls, NY. Her eleven grandchildren: Jay, Ashley, Grace, Tiberius, Willy, Brianna, Tiffany, Frances, Nichole, Briann, and Charlie-Jo. Her seven great-grandchildren: Kavin, Rylee, Skylar, Christopher, Matthew, Zane, and Bryson.
Debbie is also survived by her five siblings: Michelle, Lynette, John, Bruce, and Brian. She also has many nieces and nephews that survive.
Debbie was predeceased by a granddaughter, Whitney Ann Carey.
