Dave was born at North Adams, MA Regional Hospital, July 10, 1951. He was the son of the late Fred and Lorraine (Foster) Marchegiani. He attended Mt. Greylock High School and McCann Technical School.
Dave married Karen Yager on May 1, 1982 at Saint George's Parish in Pittstown, NY. They were married for 34 years. He owned and operated Dave's Auto in Pownal for many years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and family camping trips. He was an auto mechanic which stemmed from his education at McCann where he won the Plymouth Trouble Shooter Contest.
David was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 90 in Pownal and the Moose Family Center in Bennington.
Survivors include, his wife, Karen Marchegiani of Pownal; son, Corey Marchegiani and his wife Lynn of Williamstown, Mass. and daughter Melissa Darock and husband Bernard of Hoosick Falls, son, Daniel Marchegiani of Shushan, New York, daughter Sarah Marchegiani (Michael Almeida) of Pownal; Eight grandchildren - Myles, Jamie, Joey, Nathaniel, Bernard, Samantha, Adriene, and Cora. He is survived by his brother, Bruce Marchegiani and wife, Judy of Manchester; his sister Penny (Willette) Beault and husband Mac of Pownal,; one aunt and several nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by a son, Michael David Marchegiani.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 12:00 noon.
Friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at the family lot at Morgan Memorial Cemetery in Pownal in the spring.
Should friends desire, contributions in David Marchegiani's memory may be made to either the Pownal, Bennington or North Adams Rescue Squads or the Pownal Senior Center.
