David Jerome Guerard

David Jerome Guerard Sr. 56, a resident of Troy, New York, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2023 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Born January 22nd, 1967 in San Diego, California. He was the son of Arthur and Joyce (Harwood) Guerard. He spent his younger years being raised in San Diego, and later moved with his family to Bennington, Vermont. In 1985, he graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington. Later in life, Dave went back to school, graduating from Hudson Valley Community College in 2015 with an associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology. On November 11, 2011 (11/11/11) Dave married the love of his life; Karen Rodriguez. They were married at the Bennington Museum, and spent over 11 years together. After earning his degree, Dave began a career with the U.S. Army Watervliet Arsenal in Watervielet, NY Dave enjoyed music, especially Rock, and loved attending Concerts. Including a recent trip to a Slipknot Concert in Albany, NY. He also was a beloved “Cat Dad” and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every evening. Dave loved to watch the sunrise and sunsets, the stars, and planets. As well as the beauty of nature. Above all, Dave enjoyed spending time with his wife Karen no matter the activity. Survivors include his wife; Karen Guerard, his Mother; Joyce Guerard, his Son; David Guerard Jr., and his siblings; Terri Bourque (James), Lisa Sloan, and Phil Guerard (Dawn). Dave is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins. Dave is predeceased by his father Arthur Guerard. A memorial service will be held on May 13th, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington. Calling hours will be held at 11:30am till 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
