David N. Cook, 77, a resident of West Road Park in Bennington went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 14, 2020. Mr. Cook passed away peacefully at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He was eager to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Cambridge, New York June 13, 1943. He was the son of the late Arthur and Linda Cook. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Cedine Bible Institute, Spring City, Tennessee.
He moved to Vermont with his family where he became an ordained minister and pastor of churches in New York and Vermont. His life goal and greatest joy was sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as he could. He enjoyed studying the Bible and working with his hands.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jeanne (Lampron) Cook of Bennington, VT. His two sons, Kenneth Cook of Bennington, VT and Anthony Cook of North Bennington, VT. A daughter, Lynn Buckley and husband John of Mansfield, MA. Three grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel and Michael Buckley and two great grandsons, Mason and Everett. Two brothers, Albert Cook of Queensbury, NY and Arthur Cook Jr. of Rutland, VT. Five sisters, Charlotte Matsushige of Poquoson, Virginia, Miranda "Mandy" Chatterton of Tennessee, Beverly Burdick of Hoosick Falls, NY, Jean Cook of Reading, VT and Susan Cook of Tennessee. David is now rejoicing with his daughter Lauri Ann who died in childbirth, his brothers, Herman and Ernest Cook and sisters, Marrion Stewart and Cindy Yerdon.
A celebration of David's life will be announced at a later date.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the family lot at the Union Cemetery in Fort Edward, NY.
