Daniel J. “Jonesy” Jones, 57, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly following an accident on October 28th, 2023. Born on March 23rd, 1966 in Bennington, he was the son of David and Jean (Malloy) Jones. Dan received his early education and was raised in North Bennington. He later graduated with the class of 1984 from Hoosick Falls Central School in Hoosick Falls, New York. Jonesy worked for many years as a construction worker, beginning as the owner of Jones Foundations. He later had a long career with Baker Distribution Corporation, and most recently was employed by KSG Properties. On March 13th, 2013, Dan married the former Carla Goodrich, at the Bennington Station Restaurant in Bennington. Dan was well known as a coach for young Women’s sports in and around Bennington. He was not only a coach but a mentor, leading many successful basketball and softball teams. Dan will be remembered for his passion and dedication to these teams. He loved spending time with friends and family. As well as bowling, golf, softball, and modified dirt racing. Dan may have also been known to enjoy an afternoon at the horse track. Survivors include his wife; Carla Jones. Their children; Jake Goodrich and Rachael Jones. His mother; Jean Jones. His siblings; Lynn (Mike) Lawyer, Patti (Dwayne) Tucker, and Kenny (Troia) Jones. His mother-in-law; Gail Goodrich. His sisters-in-law; Michelle (Scott) Goodrich, Tonya ( Shawn) Benson. His Brother-in-law; Michael Goodrich. Dan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Calling hours for Dan will be held on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 from 2pm till 5pm. Later that evening beginning at 6pm there will be a celebration of life at the Bennington Elks Lodge #567 on Washington Avenue.
