Daniel F. Flanders 72, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on August 20th, 2023. He was born in Bennington on July 9th, 1951. Danny was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Reginbald) Flanders. He received his early education in Bennington, and later attended Mount Anthony Union High School. Danny married the former Nancy Sanders on August 23rd, 1968 at the Missionary Alliance Church in Bennington. In earlier years, Danny was employed at the Energizer Battery Company in Bennington. Danny enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas, where he enjoyed playing poker and attending many shows. He also took many cross country trips that usually had a stop at a (or several) Civil War battlefield(s). Danny was a Civil War enthusiast and also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years; Nancy Flanders. His daughters; Kimberly (Andrew) Klippel and Katie Flanders. His grandchildren; Ryan Klippel, Shelby Sandoval, and Tyler Klippel. A great-grandson: Andre Daniel Sandoval. A brother-in-law; Pete Davis. As well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Danny is predeceased by a brother and a sister; David Flanders and Darlene Davis. A memorial service for Danny will be held at 11am on Friday August 25th, 2023, at Mahar Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to begin arriving at 10:30am before the service. If friends should desire, contributions in memory of Danny may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, Vermont 05201
