BENNINGTON- In the early hours of February 25, 2024, Cynthia “Cindy” (Toro) Chinnici gracefully departed, surrounded by the love she nurtured throughout her life. Now free from earthly pain, she joins her parents, Monserrate Ghigliotty, William Ghigliotty, and Charles Toro, along with her grandfather Alexander Rodriguez, brother Charles Toro Jr., and son Michael Chinnici in eternal peace. Cindy is survived by her sisters Maryanne and Jeanette Toro-Linnehan, her sons Edward Chinnici Jr. and John Chinnici, along their families. Her memory is cherished by nieces, nephews, and a large extended family, all of whom she held close to her heart. May Cindy’s spirit soar free, reunited with those who preceded her in heaven. Cynthia Ann Chinnici, born Cynthia Ann Toro, graced this world for 63 incredible years, leaving a legacy as a beloved mother, sister, aunt, daughter, grandmother, and wife. Born on February 15, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY, to Monserrate and Charles Toro, Cindy embraced her Puerto Rican heritage with pride. Known as the “sociable” one, her warmth proved to be a superpower that touched the lives of those around her. Cindy was a sweet, compassionate soul with unwavering moral principles. Her humor could bring laughter to tears, and her serious demeanor reflected her commitment to those she cared for. Whether creating meaningful memories, sharing family dinners, or hosting joyful BBQs in good weather, Cindy’s presence added love and laughter to every moment. Her phone conversations always ended with a smile and a heartfelt “I love you, bye.” May her spirit continue to bring warmth to the hearts she touched. Cindy's culinary talents were more than skills; they were a manifestation of love, ensuring everyone felt welcome and satisfied. She embraced her family's tradition of making their home a year-round gathering space, where doors were always open, and friends and family were welcomed with open arms. Whether it was her fantastic eggplant, lasagna, rice, pastels, or a delightful dessert, Cindy's kitchen creations were infused with love. Raising her boys and welcoming five grandchildren brought immense happiness to her life. Her legacy will be remembered for the love, playfulness, and occasional stubbornness that endeared her to all. Cindy’s care and affection knew no bounds, leaving a significant void in the hearts of family and friends who were entertained by her stories and infectious sense of humor. Facing the grip of cancer in her final years, Cindy continued to embrace the warmth of friends, finding solace in laughter and conversation. A determined adventurer, foodie, and dog mom, she remained an unyielding force, advocating for authenticity and self-expression. Her determination and generosity left an indelible mark, exceeding all expectations. Remembered for her hospitality, wit, adventurous spirit, and ability to motivate, Cindy’s weekdays were filled with coffee and heartfelt chats. Weekends brought explorations with loved ones, embracing shared time and life. Her love, laughter, and sense of humor will be deeply missed. A memorial service on March 2, 2024, will celebrate Cindy’s life at E.P. Mahar & Son, from 10:30 to 12:30 followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 1:00 and a Celebration of Life gathering at the Moose Lodge at 2:30 Attendees are encouraged to wear NY Yankee items or colors in her honor. The family expresses gratitude to medical centers, friends, and the Bennington community for their unwavering support during Cindy’s illness.
