Crystal L. Telford (Higgins)

October 3, 1967 — August 30, 2021

Crystal Lee Ann Margaret Telford, 53, a resident of Chunk Brook Road, passed away unexpectedly on August 30th 2021. She was born in Middlebury, VT on October 3rd 1967, the daughter of Mary (Stevens) and Bernard Higgins.
Crystal received her early education at Hoosick Falls Central School, graduating in the class of 1987. She went on to complete the dental hygiene program at Hudson Valley Community College. She worked locally as a dental hygienist at Dr. Barbierri's office in Arlington.

She loved her animals more than anything, always making sure that they were well taken care of. Crystal had a very specific place in her heart for her cat Clous- who she named after a character from one of her favorite TV shows, and her pig Nellie.

Crystal is survived by her mother, Mary Higgins, of Hoosick Falls, NY; her significant other of over twenty years, Heath Grogan of Arlington, VT; a daughter, Nicole Grogan of Arlington, VT; a son, Jordan (Amy) Telford, of Sparkburg, NC. She is also survived by four step children; Sandy Grogan, Brook Grogan, Dawn Grogan and Kennen Grogan, all of Cambridge, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves a sister, Michelle (Dave) Flower, of Stephentown, and a brother, Paul (Diane) Higgins, of Pine Bush, NY.

Crystal was predeceased by her father, Bernard Higgins, her former husband Jerry Telford and a sister, Gail Varin.

The graveside service for Crystal will take place on Sunday, October 3rd at 11am at the Berlin Center Cemetery in Berlin, NY.

If friends desire, memorial contributions in memory of Crystal may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter or the American Heart Association, through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
