Corinne P. Jauch, 91, a resident of Gage St. in Bennington, VT died Saturday September 25, 2021 at the home of her granddaughter, Maria and Eric White surrounded by her family. Affectionally known as Nanny or Corky, special thanks to granddaughters Rachel Jauch and Michelle Hunt who also helped care for their spunky grandmother.
She was born in Troy, New York March 29, 1930. She was the daughter of the late David and Margaret (McCaffrey) Perreault.
She received her education in Bennington where she attended Sacred Heart School and St. Francis de Sales Academy.
She married Werner C. Jauch. For twenty years they lived in Orange City, Florida. Corinne moved back to Bennington several years ago after Mr. Jauchs passing January 20, 2015.
Known for her zest for life, she loved to be the life of the party. Always prepared for an event, she loved clothes and dressed to the nines. She also loved a good deal and a bargain spending her time finding treasures at tag sales and thrift stores. She religiously scratch lottery tickets hoping to hit the jackpot.
In earlier years Corinne was employed at various mills in the Bennington area. She also worked for the Van Santford family. Growing up as an only child, Corinne always wanted to have a large family.
Survivors include her children, Christine Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee, Guy Ottaviano of Bennington, Angela Slocum of Shaftsbury, Donna Ottaviano of Bennington, Margaret Ottaviano of Bennington and Anthony Ottaviano of Burlington, VT. Along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Corinne's wish is to be buried in the same lot as her mother. Mr. Jauch and Corinne are going to be buried together in the same grave as Margaret McCaffrey
A graveside memorial is planned for Thursday September 30th at 11 am with a celebration of life to follow.
The family would like to thank the residents at Cora B Whitney Apartments for welcoming Corky into their community. A special thanks to her neighbor Helen who always looked out for her.
