Many customers frequented the shop over the years. In the winter months you could find some of the regulars huddled around the woodstove holding the chairs down and telling stories. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 567, American Legion Post 13 and Moose Lodge 1123, all of Bennington. He enjoyed hunting, camping with his family and Wednesday night pool games in his basement during the winter months that was open to all who were willing to lose a few quarters. During the summer months you would most likely find him cutting wood at "The Wood Lot" with Howard Mattison, his closest friend and business partner.
