Christine E. Poggi

BENNINGTON- Christine E. Poggi, 71 , a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on March 10th, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on May 4th, 1951 to the late Bernice (Heberer) and Victor Emmanuel Santilli. Christine graduated from Framingham South High School, Framingham, MA and later received her bachelor’s degree in Early Children Education from North Adams State College in North Adams, MA. Christine married John D. Poggi on November 16th, 1974. Christine worked as an early childhood educator and for many years she was a children’s librarian at the Bennington Free Library. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) Eta Chapter. Survivors include her husband, John D. Poggi, of Bennington, VT. Two daughters, Ellen Poggi, of New Lebanon, NY and Sara Poggi-Decker, of Catskill, NY. Four grandchildren, Luca Poggi-Libsch and Phoebe Poggi-Libsch, Simon P. Decker and Miriam P. Decker. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Kathy Heberer. Friends are invited to a celebration of Christine’s life from 11:00am to 1:00pm on March 26th, 2023 at the Bennington Free Library.
