Christine E. Nelson, 48, a resident of Bennington, VT died Thursday May 18, 2017 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Norwood, MA November 28, 1968. She was the daughter of the late Garret E. Nelson, Sr. and Paula Jean (Connelly) Nelson. She received her education in Franklin, Massachusetts and graduated from Franklin High School.
In earlier years Christine had been employed at Energizer, Ames and Cumberland Farms.
Everyone that knew Christine was attracted to her witty personality and fun sense of humor. She loved her children more than anything and cherished time together, whether it was watching movies, or going to Lake Shaftsbury.
Christine enjoyed baking and loved making Christmas cookies, especially Pizzelle. She enjoyed reading Stephan King novels, amongst many others. She enjoyed quilting and always made a point of involving the family during holidays with all sorts of crafty projects. She also enjoyed watching movies, hanging out with friends and karaoke. Christine loved all holidays, especially Halloween.
Survivors include her children, Katherine and James Tennyson and Nina Foster all of Bennington. Her brother, Garrett Nelson, Jr. of Bennington, a sister, Shelagh Nelson Wilshire of Vero Beach, Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Christine will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Mahar and Son Funeral Home 28 Main Street, Bennington, Vermont from 5-7pm. Friends are all welcome to join us and can share a short remembrance of Christine, if they desire.
