Chester J. Watson Sr., 76, a resident of South Stream Road, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 4, 2016 following a long illness.
Chet was born in Bennington on March 6, 1939, son of the late Jesse T. and Mildred (Martin) Watson.
He received his education in the Bennington schools and was a graduate of Bennington High School.
Chet married Deborah Johns in Bennington on April 15, 1985.
For many years he was employed at Energizer (Union Carbide) in Bennington and later worked at NASTECH until his retirement.
Chet was an avid motor cyclist enthusiast who also enjoyed stock car racing with his son.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Watson of Bennington; his children, Chester Watson Jr. of Bennington, Darlene Watson of Colorado, Deborah S. Harrington of Pownal and Thomas (Kaye) Taylor of Louisville, KY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
