Cheryl E. Fox, 70, a resident of Sunderland Hill Road in Sunderland, VT died Monday July 26, 2021 at the Slate Valley Rehabilitation Center in Granville, N.Y. following a month long illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT November 12, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Alfred L. Hazelton and Virginia A. (Bentley) Hazelton. Cheryl received her education in Shaftsbury, North Bennington and was a graduate of Mt. Anthony U.H.S.
Cheryl was retired from The State of Vermont where she worked in multiple departments and positions throughout her career. Most notably as a Child Support Specialist where she found her calling championing for the benefit of the children.
She loved all life, with a especially strong empathy for animals and children. She fostered and eventually adopted many pets through the years. She enjoyed going to tea, taking day trips and laughing with friends and family.
Survivors include her son Timothy Fox and his girlfriend Shannon Stoddard of Arlington. Her brothers and sisters, David Hazelton and his wife Mary of North Bennington, VT, Clara Beeler and her husband Curt of Logansport, Indiana, Darlene Hazelton of Shaftsbury, VT, Sandra Hazelton of Belton, South Carolina, Judy Andrews of Bennington, VT, and Pam Parizo and her husband Don of Pittsford, VT. Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends that she considered family.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday August 2, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
