Charlotte C. Comar, 91 a former long time resident of South Stream Road in Pownal, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021 at Brookdale Fillmore Pond where she had resided for over 3 years.
Born in Pownal on February 7, 1930, she was the daughter of Mildred and Andrew Crosier. She received her early education in Pownal and was a 1948 graduate of Bennington High School.
Charlotte married the late Joseph E. Comar on September 1, 1951 in Greenfield, MA.
Charlotte was employed as a legal secretary for Manfred Ehrich, Esq. for more than 45 years.
Charlotte was a past member of the Pownal Center Community Church where she served on the church board. Later in life she attended the Pownal Methodist Church. She was a founding member of The Pownal Historical Society and an RSVP volunteer.
Charlotte enjoyed gardening, cross country skiing, writing poetry and short stories. A few of her stories appeared in the Bannington Banner. She attended exercise classes for over 20 years. Bone Builders being her favorite/ She loved a good Crosier Family Reunion!
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Raymond Myers of Bennington. Four grandchildren grandchildren, Andrew P. Myers of Pownal and Ethan C. Myers of Shaftsbury, Nolan Comar and Erin Roy of Pownal, and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte was pre-deceased by her beloved son Kenneth R. Comar, a sister Mildred Edleston and brothers Kenneth "Chilly" Purdy and Robert Purdy.
There will be no services due to the recent upsurge of Covid.
