Charles L. Yawn

SHAFTSBURY

Charles L. "Charlie" Yawn, 80, a resident of Bouplon Hollow Road, Shaftsbury, died peacefully Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Born in Panama City, FL on October 8, 1940, he was the son of the late John L. and Lena Mae (Brookens) Yawn. He received his education in the Panama City schools prior to enlisting in the U. S. Navy where he served two enlistments with the Naval Patrol Squadron.

Charlie married the former Nancy Billings on August 12, 1978 in Clarksburg, MA. Nancy died January 9, 2011.

A resident of Vermont for 50 years, Charlie was employed for several years as a repair technician at Johnson Controls in Bennington. He was an avid woodworker and was known for the beautiful bird houses that he made in his shop at his home.

Charlie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Young and Daniel Peters of South Carolina. He was predeceased by a sister, Rhonda Yawn.

Graveside services will take place in the family lot at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, MA on Wednesday, September 29th at 1:00 p.m.
