Litchfield, New Hampshire"Charles Richard (Dick) Sausville died peacefully Monday October 17, 2016 at the age of 82. He was born November 29, 1933 and spent his youth at 128 Beech Street, Bennington, Vermont where he and his pals explored the woods and streams of Southern Vermont, from top to bottom. He graduated from Bennington High School, class of 1951, gained an associate's degree in management, served in the National Guard, was a longtime employee of Sprague Electric and also worked at Kollsman Instruments and DuPont in Massachusetts before retiring. He loved tinkering and being a "tech."
Hunting and fishing were his lifelong passions. He was recognized as a skillful outdoorsman, big woods hunter and salmon fisherman throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.
He leaves his sister, Patricia Edmondson (Charles) of Eastham, Cape Cod, his brother Paul Sausville (Nancy) of Malta, New York and brother Thomas Sausville of Grafton, New York along with an extended family of uncle, aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the son of Charles and Dorothy Sausville (both deceased).
A funeral service and burial at the Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington is planned for Friday October 21 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family will gather at 1:30 PM at Mahar Funeral Home, 628 Main Street to form a procession to the cemetery.
