Cecile Mabel Lederer, 85, a resident of Evergreen Lane in Woodford, VT, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire December 24, 1930, daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Bergeron) Babin. Ceil received her education in Manchester, N.H. and was a graduate of Central High School in Manchester.
She married Anthony F. Lederer on July 5, 1952 in Granier Chapel at Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH and celebrated their 64th Anniversary this past summer.
Ceil was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts including ceramics, art and painting. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She loved watching all sports including golf, tennis and basketball but the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots were her favorites.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony F. Lederer of Woodford; a daughter, Sandi Lederer-Caldwell and her husband Richard of East Lyme, CT; five grandsons, Mitchell and Zachary Caldwell, Jesse and Dylan Hinze and Jacob Lederer-Monroe whom he raised for the last 8 years; a brother, Donald Babin of Outer Banks, North Carolina; a God-daughter, Daphne "Susie" Felten-Green and her husband Jeffery and their son Devin, of Cheverly, Maryland; a nephew god-son, Kevin Hurley; two brother-in-laws, Edward Mrozek of Manchester, NH and James Hurley of Boston, MA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two daughters, Cynthia Lederer-Hinze and Debra Lynn Lederer-Monroe and two sisters, Pauline Hurley and Germaine Mrozek.
The funeral will be held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Burial will take place in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, CT at a time to be announced.
