Carolyn L. Niles

Carolyn L. Niles, 80, a former resident of Bradford St. in Bennington died Tuesday August 29, 2023 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a long illness. She was born in Bennington, VT April 22, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Winifred and Marion (Champine) Wright. She received her education in Bennington. For many years, Carolyn was employed as a seamstress. She most recently had been employed at WCW in Bennington. Carolyn enjoyed sewing. Her family was her main interest. She loved and missed her husband, Richard Niles who died in 2017. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Richard Sweet (Shelly) of Glenns Falls, NY, John Sweet (Carol) of Hoosick Falls, Carolyn “Missy” Sweet of Bennington, Scott Sweet of Pownal, VT and David Sweet of Bennington. Several grandchildren. A great-grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Jerry Sweet and a brother, Lloyd Wright. At Carolyn’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Hinsdiville Cemetery on Friday September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
