Carol Ann (Sherman) Brace, age 71, a resident of Jefferson Avenue in Bennington, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 following along illness.
She was born in Bennington on September 1, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Clyde C. and Alice A. (Hathaway) Sherman. She received her education in Bennington and later attended and graduated from Coastal Carolina College in North Carolina.
For twenty seven years, she was the Activities Director at Centers For Living and Rehabilitation, and had also worked at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington.
Carol was currently employed at United Counseling Services, in Bennington. Carol is the widow of Harold Brace. Carol is a member of the American Legion Post #13 in Bennington. She enjoyed crocheting.
Carol is survived by two daughters: Beth (Kenneth) Jarvis of Bennington, and Katherine Schnopp-Alec of Bennington. She leaves three grandsons; Zachary (Brittany) Brace of Bennington, Mathew (Kim) Schnopp of Hoosick Falls, NY, and Reno Jarvis of Bennington, and one great granddaughter, Addyson. Carol is also survived by her special longtime friend, Kathy Campbell of Bennington. She leaves her brothers and sisters; Carl (Sandy) Sherman of Bennington, Clyde (Melisa) Sherman of Bennington, Rita (Tom) Prouty of Bennington, Lynne (George) Geoff of North Carolina and Hazel (Bill) Harris of Hoosick Falls, NY. Many nieces and nephews, also. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Jewett.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington, Vermont. Interment will follow in Woodford Cemetery in Woodford, Vermont. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00PM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to "His Pantry" at Sacred Heart St. Francis De Sales Church or Veterans Outreach Program, through the funeral home.
