Carmen Dillinger Mescia (Dillinger)

She was born on Oct 7, 1924 in Weehawken, New Jersey to Ludwig and Elvira Dillinger. Carmen received her education in Cliffside Park NJ and attended Pace Business College. Prior to marrying, she worked as an executive sectary at Bankers Trust in Manhattan. She spent many summers as a young person at their summer cabin in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania with her family and friends.
Carmen moved to Peru Vermont in 1968. Being an avid skier, she worked for 2 years at Bromley Ski Area and then at Stratton Ski Area as the ski school secretary for over 20 years.
Carmen enjoyed skiing and travelling, sewing, home decorating, she had several cats and dogs, and loved reading. She would always be happy to announce that her checkbook balanced 'to the penny' each month!
Carmen's survivors include her son Neal Mescia of Englewood, NJ and her daughter Adriane Lechner and her husband Alois both of Peru, VT. Carmen was pre deceased by her younger son Peter Mescia in 1982.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 30th at 10am at the Peru Church, followed by a graveside ceremony at the Town Cemetery. A gathering of friends will follow at the Peru Town Center.
