Dad was born in Petersburg, NY, April 13, 1932. He was the eldest of five children born to Carl A Jones and Lucy Barber Hakes Brown. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 plus years, Florence, and two step children Pamela Kimball and Roger Wilcox both of Pownal. He leaves three children and their spouses, Chrystal Moffitt and husband Terry of Arlington VT, Sherrie Jones of Naples Florida, and Patrick Jones and wife Sharyn of Bennington, VT. He is also survived by a close step- son in law, Stanley Kimball. He leaves a sister, Barbara Rosenburg of Hoosick Falls, and a brother, Ferd Jones of Bennington and his friend Janet Michaels and a brother, Lester Jones of Weymouth, Mass. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene Pierce of Brockton, Mass. He will be very much missed by his 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dad graduated North Bennington High School and was in the Army National Guard for several years. He lived and worked in Maine as a logger with his father and then as a carpenter in Vermont for most of his adult life. He was well- known in the area for his superior talents as a finish carpenter, his fairness to customers and his ability to envision what his customers wanted and to be able to deliver it. No job was too small or request to big.
Dad was always there to help out anyone who needed it, even if he went without to provide it. That was the kind of man he was.
He will be very much missed by his family, but we know he is at peace and very happy now that he has joined his "Girl" in Heaven.
