Carl E. Bartlett

Carl E. Bartlett, 78, of Bennington, VT, passed away surrounded by love at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington on September 28, 2023. Carl was born in Bennington on June 20, 1945, the son of Carl and Rose (Prue) Bartlett. Carl married the former Dorothy Young in Bennington on December 9, 1964. Carl was a salesman in the Bennington area for many, many years. He worked at several retail shops during his career, including Ames, Aubuchon’s and the Dollar Store, to name a few. Other than a two-year stint in Saratoga, Carl was a lifelong resident of Bennington. Carl enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley music and was an avid model car builder. He built a model of each car he owned during his lifetime. Carl was a huge fan of tag sales and would have competitions with his sister-in-law as to who could get the “free box.” While not a big hunter, Carl loved the thought of hunting. Most of all, Carl loved his family. Carl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy of Bennington; his sister, Rose Bartlett of Pownal; his sisters-in-law, Helen Dicranian and Ann Marie Barrows; and some very special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Lila Hier. At Carl’s request, there will be no formal funeral services.
